  1. Other Ways Parents Alienate Children: Calling the child a different name (this is done so the child no longer relates to their real name, and instead identifies with the alienator). When the child attempts to do something nice or give something to the targeted parent, the alienator will destroy or sabotage the child’s efforts. Making the child wear different clothing in their home. Cutting the child’s hair or altering their image. Making the child afraid of parent, family or family customs/traditions. Spreading false information about targeted parent to school, doctor, neighbors, church, other family members, court etc. Using the child to harass the other parent. Refusing to share information or communicate about child’s progress or well-being. Attempting to block targeted parent’s involvment in church, school, sports or other events important to child.
